Our mission is to provide hope for children and their families who often feel hopeless in the event of trauma and serious illness. Dr. John Matthias

Psychologist, Strive Psychology

Project iHope began in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Las Vegas.

While in the NICU with his baby boy, Dr. Matthias learned from a nurse about another baby boy in the unit with a rare form of cancer, Neuroblastoma. With his son struggling to breathe and survive, Dr. Matthias was moved by the unimaginable agony of having a baby with a terminal illness. Having worked with abused children for many years he vowed to start a project to benefit children and their families traumatized by their experiences with cancer and terminal illnesses.

We believe that children stricken with serious illnesses and their families need to strive for hope more than anyone else and to process their traumatic situations. We want to provide the most enriching, hopeful adventure experiences possible for these children and their families and to record them for future generations. We will never give up on the children who will lead our future, no matter the circumstances. We will never lose hope in their ability to contribute and heal.

Project iHope supports adventure programs for children experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder from witnessing or undergoing severe trauamas.

Our mission is to provide hope for children and their families who often feel hopeless in the event of trauma and serious illness. We offer scholarships for children and their families who are struggling with the trauma of terminal illnesses. 100% of the donations to Project iHope go directly toward our children’s adventure services.

We accept donations for Project iHope to offer scholarships to the many children and families seeking to cope with their illnesses and traumas. 100% of the donations to Project iHope go directly toward our children’s adventure services.
